Mike Rogers of Michigan on Reporters Who Wrote about Leaked NSA Documents.

From the New York Times, 2.5.14. P. A13. “Republicans Spar On Leaks and Surveillance, Underscoring Partisan Shake-Up”.   According to Representative Rogers, the Press should not be allowed to hold the government accountable for secret mass surveillance. Rogers invoked a meme of “stolen documents” to incriminate both the leaker whistleblower and the journalists who report on the NSA secret spying program. Miraculously the FBI is there to remind Representative Rogers that under our constitutional government, the Press is given the freedom to report leaked information so that our government does not devolve into an undemocratic state.

Glenn Greenwald responded that Mr. Rogers was trying to instill a “climate of fear” to intimidate reporters.
