Is Obama trying to ‘shoe us’ into a new war?

No use crying. A 1,000 more troops ordered  to Iraq and Syria last week. Called advisors when they are trained combat troops. Immunity granted to troops by Iraq’s leaders. Sunnis distrust Shia so much they might fight against the U.S. this time. FDR had the loyalty of a grateful nation escaping from a Depression thanks to his programs. Is Obama trying to evoke the same loyalties?

Is Obama’s offer of free college a ruse?

Recently some radio personality made fun of college degrees from a public college, calling them worthless, and another professor type told us that rich foreign students were grabbing all of the “good” college seats. So go ahead President Wizard, offer Americans another ersazt gift, and like the Unaffordable Care Act, people will see that the people it benefits are corporations (like health insurance companies did with the ACA), banks making student loans, and military recruiters. Those indebted students can get jobs in your new guaranteed jobs program, right? No? I thought so. Or be forced to join the military to pay off all their new debts? Very possibly. Would you then call them volunteers?

Lied to in 2003, is this time really any different?

If people think something is true, they’ll act on that belief. Remember those weapons of mass destruction? If people think advisors are teachers and not combat troops, they won’t see war coming. This country was built on bad deals, where people thought they were buying something of value, when they were just being sold something that was never delivered. The Music Man who sold musical instruments to towns, then skipped off with all of their money, made sweet music in his promises to the town’s leaders to make his ‘sale’.

Follow the money.

There is money to be made in selling military weapons, and millions will be spent to persuade politicians that they should send us to war. The whole terror threat thing is worn out, so maybe leaders realize they have to actually offer the people something to keep them ‘loyal’. But people are getting smarter: They know that there is a difference between health insurance and universal (free) healthcare. They know that in the first Depression, FDR created jobs and that in this second great depression, Obama has not created any jobs. They know that FDR taxed the rich and that Obama has picked around the edges with a toothpick, and that no one from Wall St. went to jail except for Occupy protestors. That is not a new deal. That is the same old deal.

A further excerpt calls for congressional backing for the effort to counter Isis militants:

“In Iraq and Syria, American leadership – including our military power – is stopping ISIL’s advance. Instead of getting dragged into another ground war in the Middle East, we are leading a broad coalition, including Arab nations, to degrade and ultimately destroy this terrorist group. We’re also supporting a moderate opposition in Syria that can help us in this effort, and assisting people everywhere who stand up to the bankrupt ideology of violent extremism. This effort will take time. It will require focus. But we will succeed. And tonight, I call on this Congress to show the world that we are united in this mission by passing a resolution to authorize the use of force against ISIL.”
